Warnings/Permissions/Opt Out

CONTENT WARNINGS

bido's canon (fullmetal alchemist) deals heavily with the following themes, which all have a chance of coming up in narration. bolded topics are more relevant to him personally, & therefore more likely to be addressed:

• imperialism
• war crimes
• racism
• genocide
• death/murder
• gun violence
• organized crime
• dehumanization (literal & metaphorical)
• ableism
• human experimentation

as a character, he's more or less Against most of the above (with the most obvious exception of organized crime), but he's also not a very politically conscious guy and his moral compass is wobbly at best (or at least, that's where it is at the moment). i don't plan on treating serious subjects with more levity than they deserve, but PLEASE let me know if you'd like me to avoid delving into any specific topics in our threads, if you'd like bido himself to be more sensitive about something, OR. if i've just simply written something that's struck too close to home for comfort. i will not hold it against you at all!!

on a more general note, bido IS an old fart from 1914. so he may need a lot of things explained to him, or make incorrect assumptions and roll with them until proven otherwise (i think it's really funny to do this). if you get fed up with something like this and want me to beam knowledge into his mind then let me know, i can overcommit to the bit at times i know this about myself. 

he can also be just plain rude sometimes, so tell me if you want him to cut your character some slack!! i completely get it, and please trust that there's no hard feelings on my end.

other miscellaneous bido-related subjects that might warrant a heads-up:

• drinking, drugs, & smoking (he only regularly partakes of the first)
• anti-homeless sentiment/targeted violence (might come up in narration vis a vis his life experiences. he's had it pretty rough back home)
• various team rocket level crimes (theft, kidnapping, etc.)

PERMISSIONS

YES:

• shipping. i do tend to leave him uselessly pining after his boss by default. however i love playing toys and if he has chemistry with someone* i am open to whatever happens (*with exceptions, see "no" section)
• innuendo, flirting, discussions of sex, whatever. he's a grown man, he lived inside of a bar, he's heard it all before
• physical contact (reactions will GREATLY differ depending on who your character is)
• minor to medium injury. he's a tough cookie, just don't randomly leave him maimed without asking first!!
• reading his mind

MAYBE:

• major injury (ask me about it & we can plot something out!)
• bringing up subjects that are traumatic for him. that would be, basically, anything revolving around forced experimentation/medical procedures. i'm steering him away from the research side of team rocket for now, so please give me a heads up if a thread might wind up taking a turn in that direction; i MIGHT be willing to see where it goes, i just don't have the energy to jump into that headspace without preparation.

NO:

• sexual violence
• this includes any sexual/romantic relationship between him (a middle-aged man) & a minor
• conducting medical procedures on him (outside of like. normal first aid stuff)
• shipping him with women. Sorry Ladies this henchman is gay as hell
• infantilizing him. in or out of character, it makes me very sad. only exceptions are if it's fully a character choice, we both agree it sucks and your character gets some kind of comeuppance about it
